Reach Up Youth

Diamond You Projects and Reach Up Youth joined forces to make a significant impact through their workshop "Tilted Crowns," collaborating with the invaluable support of Pattern and Push—an organisation dedicated to guiding young individuals away from the streets and into the music industry. Centred around preventing violence against girls, the workshop encompassed a wide audience, engaging both young people and those working alongside them in the community. The event was attended by esteemed members of Sheffield council, who keenly listened to the discussions, as well as representatives from Yorkshire Sport. Notably, Abtisam Mohamed, the Cabinet Member of Education and Skills, graced the workshop with their presence, providing valuable feedback that underscored the workshop's success.

With a focus on combating child exploitation, Diamond Youth Projects and Reach Up Youth addressed pressing issues within society and sought to cultivate a more protective environment for young individuals facing exploitation. During the workshop, participants delved into crucial factors, including domestic violence, forced marriage, female genital mutilation (FGM), grooming, mental health challenges like PTSD and depression, and the adverse impact of social media pressures. By thoughtfully addressing these issues, the workshop nurtured an atmosphere of empathy, understanding, and collaboration.

Through their collaboration with Pattern and Push, Diamond Youth Projects and Reach Up Youth demonstrated their commitment to empowering young people and fostering a supportive community. By exploring the multifaceted challenges surrounding violence against girls and child exploitation, they sparked conversations that have the potential to enact real change, not only among the attendees but also within the broader community. The "Tilted Crowns" workshop served as a beacon of hope, inspiring participants to work together towards a safer, more inclusive society that uplifts and protects its youth.
